This coverage is commonly used by individuals with temporary or seasonal jobs where there is no coverage from the employer, or to cover gaps in health care that might occur when a person changes jobs and has a qualifying period before coverage starts from the new employer.

Temporary medical insurance provides up to six months coverage for individuals and family members who are under age 65 and have no other medical or hospital insurance and are not entitled to receive benefits or other forms of payment for medical or hospital expenses for an illness, injury, or condition.
